Senator James L. Seward
August 11, 1951 - July 27, 2024
We are saddened to hear of the passing of Senator Jim Seward. He served the people of our district well in the NYS Senate for many years and was a friend to all. His dedication and leadership inspire many today to be the best they can be. Thank You Senator for your service. You will be missed.

I have noted some letters stating that we need to send $60 billion more to Ukraine and criticizing our congressman, Marc Molinaro, for not approving that money yet.
While I agree Russia's invasion of Ukraine is evil and we should all hope Ukraine successfully defends itself I am amazed some think it is our responsibility to fund this war, that we have unlimited resources and that we don't have our own pressing needs here in America.
This is one more example of putting others first and Americans last as so many do these days.
Ukraine is in Europe and there are many rich countries in Europe - Germany, France, England, etc. Given this war is on their continent why don't they do more? The rest of Europe is big enough and rich enough to easily defeat Russia yet instead of helping Ukraine they are stingy with their money and refuse to even meet their financial commitments to NATO. What little aid they do give to Ukraine is often in the form of loans - only Americans are expected to just give our money away.
It should also be noted that we already gave more $100 billion to Ukraine. Now they want $60 billion more. Does anyone think this will be the last request? Oh, and we are supposed to give billions more to Israel, Gaza (we get to fund both sides of that war... nice!) along with anyone else who has a need. Maybe we should pose the question this way - is there any problem in the world that these people DON'T think it is America's job to pay to fix? Haiti is blowing up again - do we have to fix that too?
We have so many unmet needs here. Our roads have potholes so big they will rip the axle off your car. Farms and businesses are failing. We don't have affordable housing. Young people have to leave to look for jobs elsewhere. Our schools can barely afford new school buses. Thousands of our neighbors are harmed by devastating addictions and too many die from them. Inflation has wrecked our budgets and made even shopping for groceries stressful. I could go on...
America isn't a bottomless pit of money. We have $33 TRILLION in debt and just paying the interest on that is bleeding us. We therefore need to prioritize our spending. I believe we should prioritize America.
I am glad we finally have a congressman who understands the value of a dollar, prioritizes our country and puts America first rather than last. Please continue to hold firm Mr Molinaro!

- We believe that our flag is a symbol of pride and patriotism Americans share in our nation and should not be desecrated.

- We believe that the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful government.
